After Treatment

After Treatment   “The Head Game”

  • This is probably as difficult a time, mentally and emotionally, as when you were initially diagnosed. This takes you off guard because you think your life can go back to normal as soon as active treatment ends. Your adrenaline has been keeping you going through treatment- and now it just stops.  Just know that there will be an adjustment period and you may have feelings of depression, loneliness, self-image issues and a feeling of being lost without seeing medical professionals all the time. You will be figuring out who the new you is. This is all pretty normal. Everyone goes through this.
  • You may want to think about seeing a therapist or an oncology social worker . They can be a huge resource to help you start feeling your new normal.

CanverVictory.com shares the things that survivors, including myself, learned while being treated for cancer. We are not medical professionals and everyone is different, so please consult your physician about anything you read on this site or on any other site.
